| What exactly is Online Pass and when does it launch?
Online Pass launches in all EA SPORTS simulation games on the PS3 and Xbox 360 beginning in June with Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 11. It’s quite simple – every game will come with a game-specific, one-time use registration code with each unit sold new at retail. With your Online Pass, you’ll have access to multiplayer online play, group features like online dynasty and leagues, user created content, and bonus downloadable content for your game including, for example, a new driver in Tiger. If the original access code has been redeemed and fans wish to get access to the online content (for example, if you pick up a used copy), you can access a free 7-day trial or additional Online Passes will be available for $10. read more @ http://www.easports.com/onlinepass What this means is that EA will try to undermind the resale value of your game. I understand that running the servers cost money but I think 10 bucks is a bit extreme for a new code purchase. Some people who play these games like to sell there old ones to help them buy the new onesw. Now they will get less cash for their trade in. Good thing I really don't care for EA Sports games.

| Well Seems Like EA Will Become The Next SEGA. Lol. Back To Just Making Software. See This Shit Happens When A Company Makes To Much Money Off People. Charging For Individual Online Gaming , plus The Online Service, ++++PLUS++++ The Online Fee Itself(XBOX 360 Only So Far). What Part Of The Recession Did They Not Understand. Fuhking queer's Keep Taking All My Hard Earned Money For Misc. Unneeded Bull. Well I Guess Thats Means I Won't Be Playing Need 4 Speed Anymore. Thanks EA You Made Me A Gran Turismo Fan Unwillingly. Other than that EA Sucked at making games anyway. Square Enix Better Not Pull This Shit Though |

| EA have to be one of the worst Games company out there. I haven't given them my money since FIFA International, that's nearly 20years. All the games have the same problem. Shit Interface, the same f*cking glitches in all there games... stupid f*cking controls, everything is over priced, they always overcharge for extra content, their online sign in process is f*cking awfull. Why the frack should i need my PSN account & an EA account to play a game online???(that comment is aimed before charging people for online play). sure it all looks nice & it usually has good sound quality.. But if that's all your looking for in a game maybe you should give up on life. Gameplay is what it's all about. I'm sure People thought Hitler looked & sounded nice in his day but look how that turned out!!!! Name a Genre of game that EA have produced & i will give you a better version of it by another company. Sorry for my little rant, but i truely hate EA... FUUUUCCCCCKKKK YOOOOOOUUUU!!!!! EA!!!!!! | |

| I forgot EA made need for speed, allthough i don't rate NFS and GT to even be the same league of game (ones a sim 'n' the other's one's abit of a flashy boy racer) Ea have really started to suck with the latest installments anyway, Underground 'n' Most wanted were awsum....then it all went soooooo downhill from there! Anyways what's thread about? Oh yeah, EA can go jump if that's what they're gunna do, if i can't hire a game to check it out there aint no way i'd buy it! (with the exception of Rockstar & Battlefield games) | |

| Lol Amish, I mainly agree with you, but you probably haven't played NHL 10 right? That game has to be one of my favorite games of all time, the realisticness leaves something to be desired but stick handling around with a puck is my favorite pass time. Every other EA game can suck balls though. | |

| Funny you mention NHL Kaelan. Being from England we don't really play American sports, but i used to work nights so i'd get to see the NBA, NHL & NFL all the time. I got really into your sports. I did download the demo of the latest NHL & had a look. I thought the career mode looked interesting playing as just one person.....But wait.. What's that i see..... OH YEAH... SHIT MENU SCREENS & awkward f*cking controls!!! to be honest EA mass produce all their stuff... NHL 09 was probably good & NHL 08,07,06,05,04,03,02 & 01 were all probably good. My point is look at all the great games. HALF LIFE, Crysis, Deus Ex.... etc... These games each took at least 4years to make. EA are the McDonalds of the gaming world. For sure if you want something quick that tastes like shit then Buy EA... just remember McDonalds is infact poison.. That's what i see EA as.. Poison.. My suggestion to anyone that wants a great game... Go to the BioWare website & just pick any game of their games... Knights of the old rebublic is superb, Mass Effect is just amazing to play (if a little short) NeverWinter nights... You will never complete...lol.. especially on the hardest mode.. All these games have a story, character development A start, middle & an end. There more like great books or films than games. UBISOFT have done some superb games too (although even they produce stuff on a yearly basis). I Miss 3D Realms, IonStorm, ID Software (technically still going but not by it's founders) & Sierra (Also technically still going), Realtime Games Software. These guys knew how to make a game. I refuse to believe that a game takes 1 year to make??? I understand that they stagger releases so by the time we see NHL10 on the shelves they've been working on NHL11 for several months. Even so, when i play a game i want to be able to go back to it over & over again. Working on the basis that you've Got NHL10 i assume you had at some point the previous NHL's or a least some of them??? How many times have you picked those games up since???? once??? i bet not even once. I still play Duke Nukem, Wolfenstien (the first one), Half life, Doom, Quake, GTA (the first one) Civilizaion II & IV, Deus Ex 1&2, Jade Empire, Mass effect 1&2 , knight if the old republic.. Not because newer versions haven't come out but becuase the gameplay is just so good. The storys are just superb. I'm an old fashioned gamer (despite my age), I will take Gameplay over shiny graphics & up to date names any day of the week.. I just played the new Civilization & it sucked balls, such a huge disapoinment. I don't want a new game every year of the same title, i want 1 game every 4/5 years. If that one game has been made propely then i'm happy to wait. Play Half Life on the hardest setting. Then Play Half Life 2 on the hardest setting (with all the add-one). I promise you, you'll have more fun on those games instead of anything EA can produce in the next 3years. Sorry for the rant Kaelan... I truely hate anything that isn't built with care. I dont' like mass produced sh*t!!!! I suppose that's why my friends call me Amish. I will take my revenge on EA one day.. Although even then, I will say that they did a great job on LHX Attack Chopper (for the PC)... If anyone can remember that game?? lol... Peace out Y'all... | |

| Lol rant monster, it's alright. I've thought that EA games were just like you describe, plus online = horrible. Absolotuely and terribly horrible. But NHL 10 and 09 were the first people to use better controls, which I defenitely like. I do think they mass produce a lot of stuff, but how can you not when every year the NHL comes out with new great players and shit. If EA wasn't mass producing them and taking 4 years, then half the players on the games now wouldn't be there. Sidney Crosby, Malkin, Ovechkin, Rick nash, Kyle Turris, kovalchuk, they would all have not been created yet. Sure they would have better gameplay, but at the cost of losing stars like that and being incredibly out of date.
Just sayin. | |

| dude i'm not rantting at you, just EA...lol... Your alright in my books... Your right, instead of a new game though why not just have roster updates (DLC)???? then they can take a little while longer to make a good game. Online is the worst for EA...lol... Their customer service is f*cking awfull aswell. Have you ever emailed these guys about troubleshooting issues???lol Just gone through the EA website (i feel dirty now, might go and have a shower). Looking at the games 'They' Develop.. most of it is annual games. 41 pages of shit!!!! the games that look good they don't make..lol They publish a lot of games but that's because their media whores!!!! Basically they can suck my c*ck if they want money of me. They ruined the games industry with the amount of sh*t they've put out there. Their used to be some fantastic company's knocking around, Company's like EA have f*cked it for everyone. I live 15minutes from Codemasters, even they have gone down hill in the last few years. They produce stuff on a yearly basis. Such a pity. Operation Flash point 2 was one of the few games they didn't rush, but they somehow f*cked that up too???? AHHHHHH!!!!!!!! I suppose that's what happens when you'll do anything for a quick Buck! Rant Monster...Out. | |

| I know, and I was just calling you a rant monster in general too. lol.
you got me there with the DLC's. I think maybe that would be a better idea, they can just add new stuff onto existing games as well. But you can't really blame them for coming out quickly, I mean look at MW2. People have been waiting for that to come out since Cod4 came out and now i'd rather just play MAG as much. Spent lots of time and the servers and lag are still shit.

| EA now owns BioWare as of 2008. It was founded by seperate dudes though, Ray Muzyka & Greg Zeschuk & one other guy who i can't remember, in around late 94 early 95ish. EA put their name on it now (as you would expect as they own the company) but the programmers are still essentially Bioware. I would expect EA to do the Marketing for the products due to the stranglehold they have within the markets. I'm sure it was Bioware (when they were having financial troubles around the mid 2000's) where going to partner up with Pandemic studios. The company that was going to do this was bought out by EA, therefore Bioware was bought. Which also made pandemic studios, EA (pity). Ironically pandemic are no longer with us You have EA to thank for that! I'm sure Westwood Studios suffered the same fate as Pandemic, hopefully you will all remember the first & probably best Command & Conquer as not being EA. Now look at the series... BASTARDS!!!!! Feel free to add more names of great companies that are now owned by the parasite that is EA.... i've mentioned a few but it's upsetting to keep writing them all up ...... I'm aware that EA publish most games now due to the fact they own most of the companies making the games. My issue is well 2 issues... 1. Their games (EA) suck balls!!!!! 2. Buying out companies which have innovators is not right. It stops competition of smaller companies having a go. I'm aware that i'm in the minority for this thinking, but competition is what makes greatness. If everyone is under the same umbrella you lose that. You can apply this to almost anything in terms of business. Look at the car industry. It will be interesting to see how Bioware go down the line. They have produced a couple of good games since 2008 even though they are owned by EA. How long will that last though? | |

| I would imagine that would last as long as they keep expanding on older games and don't try and make a new one. Look at Socom. Great series, then Slant 6 takes over and it sucks shit. | |
