It has been confirmed that there will be a four player multiplayer and so far four of the modes have been shown.
Ramsterball puts the player in a giant metal ball and is a form of tag. One player is "it" and must run his ball into pillars to gain points, while the other players run their ball into him to try and become "it" to gain points.
Headache puts the players in a horde of zombies, and they then must rush to the middle of the map and grab blenders. The point of the game is to put up to three blenders on zombie's heads and then rush to the far side of the map and push a button to activate them to gain points. The blenders are color coded so if a player sees an opponents blender they can give the zombie a stick of dynamite and stop them from gaining points.
Pounds of Flesh has the players wearing a helmet with antlers on them and hitting zombies over a gap to a giant scale. The player with the most weight wins. They can either just hit the zombies over with one hit or charge through the crowd of zombies and hit with a big thrust at the end. If the player needs more zombies the player hits a reload button and a giant anvil crushes the zombies and a new batch appears.
Slicecycles has each player on a motorcycle with chainsaws strapped to the handlebars, facing a sea of zombies in front of them. The game is simple, run through the mob and kill as many zombies as possible. The multiplayer mode seems to exist in a dystopian future in which zombies are killed for entertainment and as such have become a fixture of everyday life.
Co op Blue Castle games has recently confirmed that there will be a free roaming co-op mode, though few details are available at this time. According to a recent article by Jeff Gerstman, the co op mode does not factor into the main storyline of Dead Rising 2, and both players will play as Chuck Green (however they each have unique attire). Cutscenes remain unchanged (only one Chuck will appear) and only the hosting player will progress their story, although both players may earn PP in this mode.

yeah more and more games are coming out with mulit-player sides to them. I have to say that bioshock 2 MP was a great disapointment.
I just might have to put this game on my "need to get list" as I just love zombie hunting.

Aww. I take it this is very similar to Left 4 Dead? I've been playing L4D and L4D2 on my mates 360, and got to admit it's one of the most fun shooters out there especially for the soloist.

I agree. I have to wait two months for the nearest game I want to come out (TFU2) so in the meantime i'll probably be playing MAG and maybe getting Dante's Inferno or Assasin Creed 2.

I've been enjoying the AC series so far, but I have to say that the MP in AC:B does nothing for me.
I will at least be renting DR2, and I'm pretty sure that I'll be buying AC:B

Yeah you guys got a free beta or seomthing aye?
I played the second (rental) for a bit but thought it would just be the same shit runnning around on rooftops finding treasure, didn't sound particular\y thrilling, will def check out the 3rd one though

AC2 was a lot of running around, but there was really no nead to go treasure hunting and the storyline was a huge improvement on the first game. I just find it fun to get into huge brawls with the guards, disarm a gaurd, and kill whichever guard I disarmed with his own weapon.
I heard about a beta that came along with a game, but I have no interest in the MP so the beta was pretty worthless to me.

I'm going to rent it over the weekend, but won't buying it until late oct. So far it sounds pretty good, but the bosses are crazy hard.

Got it, nearly finish3ed it twice, co op is awsum, bosses are piss easy, just need to be prepared for them , you can get away with a shotgun + nail or knife gloves + a mixed potion 'n' you'll urinate quite freely all over their corpses
Anyone wants help add me, only gettin on there sundee arvo's 'n' a couple of times a week for a lil bit, bloody work.
Great fun but i rekon the timelime of the game is abit limited, really not a great deal of replay i see right now (i WILL be hittin it untill level 50) but will def keep me occupied untill Fallout new vegas comes through at the end of the month

I just finished this (again, on my home ps3) and it seems that there really isn't any replay value whatsoever, sure it's fun playing with a mate (when they're bloody on!) but asiding clocking it and gettin an S finisher which is what i did and found it piss easy to do this, rescued pretty much everyone (except for pricks that are hiding) 'n' killing all the phycopaths there really isn't much more to do......
I'd like to smash the $6million mark and get all the armour but asiding that there's really bugger all else todo on this game, i get the feeling anything that gets added will bloody well cost a bundle and by that time i'll be engrossed in Medal of honor/Fallout

I have to agree with Dunurmom on this one. This game gets boring playing the single player.
Yes smashing zombies is about the only interesting part of the game.
Attacks are slow and sometimes it feels as if it;s unresponsive as well.
IMOP this would just be a good rental and not a purchase.

I've been enjoying this game for a while now. The single player wasn't great, but I've played worse.
Smashing zombies is pretty fun, but killing 72,000 of them just sucks without some kind of free roam once the game is completed.

Well ya sorta can get free roam, just don't doi the missons or give katie zombrex 'n' you can continue on really
Yeah dead, absoultly rental only, is good fun, but you'll smash it in a weekend, i don't get how easy it was all round
