| well my PS3 broke for a 4th time, a day after warranty, so unless my parents get me one for christmas (doubt it), im done. im 15, cant get a job where im at yet so yeh, this sucks. any ideas on what i should do because i bought an intercooler for it, and it still broke. im really angry, i feel like screaming, because all of this time i commited those thousands of hours into it, and now they are gone and wasted and im not gonna get those 4 years of my lfe back. Grrrrrrrr, you guys who have jobs can go just buy another one for yourselves but i cant -_- | |

| ouch, a day after warranty man, that sucks. You can ask your parents to get a slim for christmas/various other holidays, or a new fat one (not those backwards compatible ones, they always break.) or you can wait for year to get an actual job. however any place like macdonalds will generally hire on 15 year olds, you can ask a teacher for help with a resume. you can also cut grass/shovel snow etc if you want or strike a deal with a relative, like if you do well in math this year, they;ll buy you a new one or something. | |

| That really sucks Rev. Sorry to hear this.
Just remember that winter is coming and snow will fall. So get your shovel and charge 10 - 15 bucks a drive. In 35 driveways or less you will have enough to buy a new slim.

| How about allowance? You get any? If so, ask your parents to get you a used PS3 off craigslist or something for x-mas, and cover it on so many weeks allowance. I bought mine used over 2 years ago, and it's still running fine. It's one of the fatty's, but doesnt play PS2 games, just the PSX ones.
This way, you get ur PS3, they dont have to pay anything extra seeing you're essentially paying it, and they still get the chores done around the house. Everybody wins. As an added plus, tell them you'll do even more chores if needed.
The snow removal is also a good idea, if you dont feel like cleaning the house for months on end.

| oh well kaelan, i had the fat b/c 80 gig that SONY first released so i could tell them that, and i've been saying things around them like, "once i get a job i will be able to buy the slim, which is $300 now" (which was half the price when they bought it for me when i was 10) I do chores, but dont get paid, but maybe they will get it for me on the 25th.......... i can only wait..... and Dead_Corps, i might look into that shoveling idea, thing is, it barely ever snows here in North Carolina, so....... | |

| Call it holiday cheer or something along those lines, but i think i just pulled out an idea that might incite ppl to join/stay/participate in DOA & MAG, and help our little buddy here.
Dead, alex, and every other high ranked officer/MAG loyalist here ... i want your input on this, as we are the ones who will be taking part in this.
How about we organize some sort of 50/50 draw/tourny to help out Rev here?
Here's how it would work:
1- Dead chooses a certain ratio to rank placement(KD%, HS%, Knife%, whatever...). 2- For a determined period(that can be viewed on the MAG leader boards, so weekly or monthly) we all shoot to kill as many scumbags as we can to rack up the points. 3- At the end of said timeframe, we look at the results of all participants, and the winner gets half the winnings(transfered through pay pal or western union or whatever is used this day and age) 4- The other half goes to Rev for his new PS3(or if we repeat this type of event every now and then, to some other good cause for a member of this site, ex: Winner and runner up both get a copy of an up-comming game(depending on how many participate) or gift cards or whatever, maybe keep whatever is left over extra for the site devs as a thank you? or for new elements on the website?)
I'd be willing to throw in a fiver for this type of comp. Would also greatly increase gameplay for said week or month. It would also be a great perk to joining the clan, and being active on the forums to keep up with these types of events for the newcomers.
We would all have to open up an account with pay-pal or whatever we choose to do the money transfers with, and someone would have to manage the money until the tourny is over. Someone who wouldnt screw anybody over. Someone we can all trust. Managing how much is in the pool shouldnt be hard anyways with a 5$/head count. A thread could be made for each, with a list of the participants. If he does screw us all over, it's pretty easy to find out when the pot splits 50/50. Maybe make a rule that whoever is chosen to manage the tourny, is not allowed to participate or something, not to entice him to keep the earnings out of spite he loses.
P.S. I'm usualy a grumpy old fuk who doesnt give two shits about others, but Rev is one of the few of us in our clan who actualy cares and posts on the boards and keeps this clan going and i'd like to help him out. I would also like to help the clan grow and keep activity high. No one is forced to enter these events, but for a 5$ entry fee, and a chance to win half the earnings, who wouldnt? It's a win/win idea i think?
Who's with me? Gambling never hurt anybody right? >.> ... <.< ... >.> ... <.< ... >.<

| P.P.S. Rev, if you're looking for something cheap, try buying used man. I'm telling you ... you get a great deal on pre-owned stuff, and there is ALWAYS room for negotiating the price down.
Here in Ottawa, theres a site called UsedOttawa.com ... im sure there must be something along the same lines for down there in NC. You guys have Kijiji.com? or craigslist?
Truely, there's no real difference between the fattys and the slims ... they both do the same job, and both can fit an upgraded HDD. The HDD is the only thing that differs in them. And buying a used one and a 500gig SATA HDD for example costs alot less than a brand new 320gig slim PS3. Hell, there's alot of used slims for sale too from ppl who bought the PS3, and just didnt like it, if you really have your mind set on getting it.
For a used PS3 Slim 320gig, offering around 220$ is quite a fair offer. Most adds will be placed in and around 250$+ as the owners dont want to lose any money, but realisticly, they probably had their minds set on getting around 220$ anyways and are just trying to give themselves room to negotiate down. The only exception would be if the console comes with extras, like Move, or extra controllers, or games, usb cables, HDMI cables, fans, etc. These bring up the price considerably. But seeing you already have all that, im sure just the basic console is all you need.

| Wth Dead? You got pissed or what? It's just a game man.
Rev, the whole idea of this is to help someone out in the clan. The other 50% of it to the winner is just a perk.
If the idea takes off, it could potentially help alot of members in the clan.

| Well I don't mind doing that, Matt, but I really know nothing about Pay Pal, and trust it even less cause things on the internet are shit and I don't want my money to turn into shit.
Also Dead, I feel for you, but dude, that seems like a stupid thing to do. Just pointing that out because by now you may be berating yourself for your moment of anger.
Also Rev, realize that later on in life when you the cash isn't flowing in, you may want to accept offers like that (:

| After we decide what service will be used to make the money transfers, IF it happens, i'll type up a step by step for account creation and whatnot.
PayPal and WesternUnion are both super secure. I've done transactions through them multiple times in the past. There's no need to worry about losing any money into a portapotty.
In this case, one account will have to be the "bank" where everybody sends the money to, and after the contest is over, the owner of said "bank" will have to write a check to whoever wins and mail it to them. Or, in a cash advance store, just give the account # to the winner and he can go pick up the money from the store in his area. Honestly, i prefer the "bank" idea myself, as there wouldnt be any "service fees" applicable. And say for one of the constests its not actual money as the prize, but a copy of a new game or something, the "bank" can just order the game online with the "bank" paypal account and have it shipped directly to the winner.

| That really sounds easy to do.
I don't like the idea of say who has the most increased head shot ratio as these things can be wrong. I looked some stats up a while back and it said I killed 5 people that month when I know I played more than 5 games.
I do think a raffle or something would be good. Who wouldn't stick 5 bucks in the chance to get a new game or something.
We could use the conformation codes of the deposits to use as the tickets. Or come to think about it that wouldn't work. What if I wanted to buy more than one chance at the winnings.

| The mag leaderboards are flawed right now, I read in the mag forums that there is no data coming from zippers boards so tic's boards are wrong. | |

| Well I know that we can use our own stats, give the clan the number of kills you currently have once you register and then we keep track of how many you get for the month. Only problem with that is cheating. I imagine lots of people will cheat just to get a chance for a new game or something. | |
