Unbelievable!

well after only 17 days my PS3 got the yellow light again. I'm so pissed, but at least i have this warranty. So if Garmug is reading this, that's why i "left" the match

oouuuuchhh. I think I played like 2 games with you before this mate, and it really sucks we don't get to play some more. At least by the time you get it fixed, Zipper may have fixed the crap version of MAG we have now.

Hell yeah to the 40GB Fatty! Mine's been going strong for the last 3 years *touches wood*. Albeit mine is now a 500GB fatty after a choice home upgrade.

Mine is 80GB w/out backwards compatibility, and it's been going since I got it, probably 3-4 years. Rather fat though.

Always wishing I had backwards compatibility, but seeing how many problems they have may have saved myself some grief.

I had the 80gn backwards comp. on launch... unfortunately earlier this year it died... never had yellow light..was always BD drive issues. To have repair out of warranty was like $150 or something..so I decided to just get a slim... upgraded to 320gb hdd

should i get a slim? and if i do could i take out my Hardrive on the fatty and put it into the slim?

I tried to swap my 20 gig w/ the 60 I bought so I could save the info. It didn't work. It said the info was corrupt. It's still a good HDD thou.

oh wow this sucks. I still get to keep the trophies (dont really care), but im borderline level 69 in MAG... oh so close.... hmmm. I'm still under warranty so i'll get it repaired once more, but if it fails again i will probably get it fixed again, sell it (lol), then buy a slim

I think as long as u dont delete ur mag character on game u still will be what lvl u were... saves it server side... not on PS3. PS3 saves settings and such. Ever so often what i do is hook up a external HDD or usb drive and save my save files so incase i need to i can reinstall it. U can use the old HDD if bigger then new PS3, but u need to re-format.

I like the slim, runs alot smoother and quieter. And this time I took out a extended 3 yr warranty in case... At first I was upset, cause I lost the ability of playin old PS games... but after I thought about it... Why would I wanna play games that are so inferior to what i can play now on PS3... They were great games for their time... but I have moved on. lol

I don't know about you mate, but I've always loved PS2 games, and they have the best titles ever. Call me a nerd, but there were like 4 star wars games on Ps2 which were the absolute shit, Socom was still good back then and EA wasn't totally dominating the sports side of things. About the only title i've seen that would've made me want a PS3 was MAG and NHL 10/11.
