| So today, I was playing Mag, and my mom suddenly got pissed at me and started yelling at me, because she thought I was playing too much video games. She started talking about how high school is coming up, and how I need to get into honors classes. So she hid the controllers from me. She was even saying something about smashing the controllers and throwing them away. But that won't happen, as throwing away electronics is dangerous and not permitted. So basically, she wants me to study more. My only hope of playing now, is if I make it to the honors classes, she might let me have another chance. Have any of you ever had these kind of conflicts?
*EDIT* My mom has decided that I can only play on Saturday nights, which I think is a fair plan. even though its still summer and there's no school right now.

| Honors isn't all that hard in High School. I only really did the homework in my classes (rarely studied and almost never read) and still managed to get As and Bs in most of my classes.
I had a run-in during senior year while taking advanced Chem. The teacher I had basically set up the class so it was like teaching yourself the entire curriculum. My parents were both pushing me to get my grade up, my dad even made a deal with me. I get my grade up and he'd buy me a computer for college. Unfortunately for him he did this right before a 400 point demonstration that was almost a guaranteed A. Free stuff for me!

| Well, I hope it isn't hard for me. I know this isn't a relevant topic, but my main point of posting it here, is because I can't play MAG, and everyone will wonder where I am. | |

| that sucks man. No more video games? argghh Well it is better to do well in your classes and learn your subjects than play games. That is for sure.
As Relentless said do your homework. I failed to do my homework but passed every test with flying colors. My teachers felt that I didn't do enough in my classes so I didn't get good grades. I told them that I knew what they wanted me to learn and they told me that homework was 70% of the grade. So I asked them "so your telling me that copying things on to paper has more of an effect on my grade than my actual knowledge on the subjects?" they said yes. LOL
Lets hope you can keep your grades up I would hate to lose you as a member of our Clan. As a father myself I want my daughter to do well in school so she can go to college and get a degree. These are very beneficial to getting a good job later in life.

| Actually, I'm pretty sure my mom was just stressed out. It might not be too long before I'm on again. And I do understand that school matters. But I mean, compared to a lot people in this clan, I haven't really play that much. I only have about 173 hours in this game. | |

| Racingfan, back in the old days when i was a budding gamer I too was limited to the amount of playing time on my NES. Yes, I sense the frustration in you, but it is for your own good. School is your stepping stone to success. Now go make DOA proud and get Straight A's. | |

| Dude you have to realize that most of us in the clan are adults and have other responsibilites in life. Some of us have none at the moment. That being said school is the most important thing for you and your future. Even if you have to give up games for a while it will be ok life will go on. Listen to your parents and do not try to go against them or your life will get worse than just no video games. The thing to do is not to try and win this battle, just agree and show your parents what you can do in school. If you prove yourself with your grades then you will most likely be allowed more freedoms. REMEMBER you parents have your best interest at heart. | |

| racingfan312, Thanks for keeping all of us informed - we'll look forward to playing with you whenever you get the opportunities to sign into MAG. And I just wanted to say to everyone else how awesome these responses are in trying to give advice to racingfan and generally being supportive. Things like this make me feel that our clan really is a close-knit community and I'm glad to be a part of it. | |

| Apparently, my parents forgot to take the controllers from me, and I play occasionally when they aren't home. | |
